What we test is the book: the ideas in it, how they are combined, and the rule that turns a forecast into positions. There is one forecast for each security at each moment, not competing ones.
We pay for data only after it shows that it predicts, and stale information fades to neutral. A source is not trusted for being expensive or exciting.
