North star / How the practice runs
Question first, delete second, simplify third
Speed and automation come last.
Before improving a step, we ask whether it should exist at all. Making a step faster that should have been deleted is wasted work, so speed and automation come only after a step has earned its place.
People set the rules in advance, and the system applies them the same way every time. We do not change rules in the middle of a losing stretch, and a loud failure is better than a quiet error.
